DARPA - the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency - has developed a series of games which will allow them to use crowd sourcing as a means of scanning millions of line of code for software vulnerabilities. I point this out because the last Titans event from NVTC featured DARPA director Arati Prabhakar, who discussed a number of interesting projects that the agency was pushing forward. Another point that Prabhakar made was that we as a tech industry need to find a way to lower the cost of this research and practical implementation. I was fortunate enough to be able to ask a question and suggested crowd sourcing as a way to lower project costs.
